Bridging the gap between planning and data integrity in environmental projects.
Data Verification and Validation
Quality data in, sound decisions out!
Data Verification
Our Data Verification Process is conducted in accordance with the EPA Guidance on Environmental Data Verification and Data Validation, EPA QA/G-8. This process is for the evaluation of the "completeness, correctness and conformance/compliance of a specific data set against the method, procedural and contractual requirements." It confirms and documents that the data reflects what was actually done in the field and in the laboratory.. Data verification evaluates how closely data generation procedures were followed.
Our verification process involves the review of:

-
Project-specific planning documents
-
Program-specific planning documents
-
Standard Operating Procedures
-
Published, approved sampling and analytical methods

Our verification process will evaluate procedures for:

-
Sample Collection
-
Sample Receipt
-
Sample Preparation
-
Sample Analysis
-
Laboratory Records Review

The lists above are not all inclusive. The process is project specific and based on the verification needs of the client.

Data Validation

Our Data Validation process is conducted in accordance with the EPA Guidance on Environmental Data Verification and Data Validation, EPA QA/G-8. This is an analyte-specific and sample-specific process that extends beyond the verification process, and determines the quality of the data being validated. The data validation process is based on the measurement quality objectives identified in the Quality Assurance Plan for the project., and applies to field and laboratory activities. This process contains data useability and data integrity

Our validation process involves the review of:

-
Project-specific planning documents
-
Program-specific planning documents
-
Standard Operating Procedures
-
Published, approved sampling and analytical methods
-
Field documentation
-
Laboratory documentation

Our validation process will evaluate

-
Project needs
-
Instrumentation calibration
-
Field documentation
-
Sample collection logs
-
Chains of Custody
-
Quality assurance and quality control information

The lists above are not all inclusive. The process is project specific and based on the validation needs of the client.

Alternative Data Verification and Validation
Some projects may require alternative data verification and validation procedures, as dictated by state or local statute. In those cases, the verification and validation process will occur in accordance with those requirements, unless the client ops for the EPA processes listed above, if they are more stringent.
